About me

Hello! My name is Kunchangtai Liang, but people often call me Rickey. I am currently a PhD student supervised by Prof. Dr. Isabel Valera at the Probabilistic Machine Learning group at Saarland University. Before that, I obtained my MSc degree from the University of Edinburgh, and then worked as a Research Assistant there with Dr. Antonio Vergari at the April Lab.

I am interested in research topics related to the broad area of interpretable and tractable machine learning. Specifically, I am investigating the theoretical grounds for applying (probabilistic) circuits in causal inference. Meanwhile, I am passionate about employing these methods in real-world applications that require explanations and guarantees.

I like to connect with others and expand my knowledge and skills. Feel free to reach out to me via email!
